Operator vigilance and human factors in defence environments
In operations, failure rarely comes from a sensor. It comes from an operator eight hours in, from a workload rising with no one measuring it, from one more alert in an already saturated feed.
The stake
Surveillance and command centres concentrate a cognitive load that nothing observes continuously today. ASLAN measures that load from the cameras already in place and ties it to environmental events.
Work conducted with IRBA (French Armed Forces Biomedical Research Institute) and INRIA on objective vigilance measurement in constrained environments.
